Why choose Kahuna Host?
It’s simple, control. There are no restrictions to your installation of WordPress on our server. You have the control to add premium themes, integrate e-commerce, edit files on the server, add additional software and much more. We offer the ease of website management that comes with WordPress, and full control over your server. It’s as simple or robust as you want it to be.
How do I point my domain to Kahuna Host?
You will need to log in to the account of your current domain registrar and point the domain to our name servers — it’s kind of like forwarding an email address. The process varies with each registrar, but the name servers should be located in your domain settings. You will need to replace the existing name servers with the following Kahuna Host name servers:
How do I edit content on my site?
The WordPress admin can be accessed by clicking the “Log In” link within the footer of your theme, or by adding the /wp-admin/ extension to your domain name. For example, http://mydomain.com/wp-admin/. Once logged in to WordPress, you can begin adding pages, posts, links, media and more to your site.
How do I access my account?
When signing up with Kahuna Host, login information will be provided via email for 3 management areas:
- The Client Area, where billing, products and packages are managed.
- The Control Panel, where you can setup email accounts, configure domains, access your server and much more.
- The WordPress Platform, where content can be added and edited on your website. Accessing the WordPress admin will require entering your domain name and the /wp-admin/ extension. (i.e. http://mydomain.com/wp-admin/)
I signed up, but my site isn’t available?
Your site is most likely ready, but a website requires a domain name to be accessed. If you chose to point or transfer an existing domain instead of registering a new domain with us, you will need to point that domain to the Kahuna Host nameservers before your site is available. This is accomplished through your domain registrar.
I need help using my theme?
Theme support is handled by that respective theme company. For instance, if you purchased a theme from Organic Themes, theme related questions and support are handled via their support forum.
What’s different between us and WordPress.com?
Kahuna Host uses the open source version of the WordPress platform from WordPress.org, which gives you control over the platform, themes and plugins. There are no limitations on our server for integrating additional solutions such as e-Commerce, forum and membership software, frameworks and much more. In addition, you have the ability to manage multiple domains, email accounts and access your server. Kahuna Host is the solution for the serious blogger or business owner that intends to make money with their website.
WordPress.com is a great solution for casual bloggers. However, it operates in a closed environment where the customer has very limited control (if any) over the hosting, domain, software and themes. Ultimately, they hold all the cards.
How do I migrate content from WordPress.com?
